This introductory talk explains the benefits of Open Science and presents a whole range of practices and tools aimed at making the research process and outputs more transparent and publicly available.
It seeks to answer the following questions:
- WHY research should be open? – focusing on benefits, requirements and potential rewards.
- WHAT should be open? – focusing on the diversity of outputs throughout the research lifecycle.
- HOW to make research open? - focusing on the concept “open by design” and mapping, throughout the research lifecycle, practices, tools and communication channels that ensure openness, while taking into account the FAIR and CARE principles, as well as Responsible Research and Innovation requirements.
The session will also include a facilitated discussion about the strategic choice of your Open Science practices.
