Event Details

Lecturer: prof. dr. Zoran Ren, University of Maribor, Slovenia

The University of Maribor (UM) has finished a significant infrastructure investment project RIUM to procure new state-of-the-art scientific research equipment. The project was intended to significantly upgrade the research infrastructure in the following UM research priority areas: Advanced Materials and Technologies, Health and Food Safety, Smart Energy and Circular Systems. The investment ensured state-of-the-art scientific research equipment for UM and other Slovenian researchers. Thus contributing to a substantial increase in scientific research capacity and contributing to the development of specific human resources. The University of Maribor has developed a BRIUM system for open access to public research infrastructure in the framework of the project. The BRIUM enables easy, transparent and equitable access to research equipment for all researchers and ensures wide availability for education and training purposes. The presentation will focus on the basic principles of open access, the vision of the UM and the BRIUM system as implemented at the University of Maribor.
