The University of Maribor is implementing a major infrastructural investment project RIUM to acquire new state-of-the-art scientific research equipment to support the priority research areas Advanced Materials and Technologies, Health and Safe Food, Smart Energy and Circular Systems. The existing and new research infrastructure will be accessible to all researchers. The University of Maribor is developing a system of open access to public research infrastructure within the RIUM project, enabling easy, transparent, and broader access for researchers to research equipment and ensuring its wider accessibility for education and training purposes. The lecture will present the basic principles of open access, the vision of UM and the planned system of its introduction at the University of Maribor.
